Hi Folks.

Returned after a few years of doing other projects.

Still have OYF and NTC for those of old.

OYF is a bit worse for wear after a few years and many thousands of miles after the rebuild. Its due a birthday once NTC is done.

NTC is still fairly well progressed, but I've been embarrassingly distacted rebuilding my 110 and a few narrow gauge railway locos, buying a house and putting a railway in  :confused  ???  :cheers-man

Im also doing a project with a sucessful bulkhead and tub manufacturer (no real affiliation other than a friend) so may be seeking a poll post to the market demand for generic or specific bulkheads... my preference being specific.  :RHD

Thanks Paul. What size or scale? Most of my stuff is 2ft gauge ex industrial equipment. But I have friends in most areas if the hobby.

Loads of other wheels and bits.

Hi Paul. Looks like a Martin Evans-Jubilee design.

Marketplace on faceache if you're on there is good to start. Or Ebay.

Looks like it has a copper boiler that is presumably complete as well. That has to be worth a few quid.

I have a 1/4" scale Burrell traction engine but the steel boiler is trashed, rusted too thin in many places. A new copper boiler was £7k and a 2 year waiting list for one so it's now just a large pile of bits in the corner of my garage.
I did play with the idea of making my own steel boiler replacement but apparently you need to be a coded welder of pressure vessels to stick it all together.

I had a chat with them a while back, they are more about running engines than building them.

The boiler is all there but needs assembly. Scrap I could make a few quid. All boilers have to be tested, this was made before some of the rules applied I am guessing early 80's

Yup, there was a time when you could build your own boiler and as long as it passed a pressure test, good to go.

Speaking with the boiler tester that condemned my steel boiler you now need to provide certificates for the material used, it has to be welded together by a coded welder and once he his happy that is done, he will perform a 2x hydraulic pressure test then come back for a steam test when the engine is all back together.
Copper boilers are off course silver soldered together which is an art in itself and getting the whole thing hot enough to solder requires some pretty serious kit. TIG welding of copper is acceptable but again, guess a coded welder needs to do it.

Off course a steam boiler is a dangerous thing so no harm in having a few rules and regulations with them.

I'd go for ebay or Facebook market place to sell it.

Excuse ignorance, but I'm a newcomer to things Land Rover. Until recently I never pictured a Venn diagram of Land Rover and railways and traction engines, but I see the connection. A bit late for me to go down that path, but interesting nevertheless. (:
