Made a bonnet prop and mount from some 6061 and some stray bits of mild steel. Not original I know, but not much else is in the engine bay. Also, the stick I was using before hand had to go in the fire since it's Baltic here.

I collected the stubby screwdriver kit from Screwfix and combining it with the screwdriver from the socket set for the more stubborn larger screws all the dash top screws are now loosened slightly.

I've found buying a wide bladed screwdriver online impossible lately. I want one 15mm wide for the spire floor screws.

I got a few wee things done today.

Replaced the fuel pump.
Recharged the battery (it's been sitting for a few months).
Started her up and got her up to temperature - no leaks.
Trimmed a bit off the N/S bonnet hinge, to make it engage better.

Now need to look at replacing the door hinge pins with stainless steel.
Replace the door seals (they're too hard and you need to slam the door to close it)
Adjust the side steps - they slope downwards towards the ground.

Meantime, I'll take out the Missus for a wee run.

I nipped out to the 88 and flatted and painted a second coat of brush and roll topcoat on the rad panel, and overall am pleased with the dried second coat on the n/s wing front. It's not sprayed quality but I can probably live with it until I (if/whether/when) I get a compressor, spray gun etc..

This morning, I thought I would get back on with the steering. Ah. More room with the naff steering guard removed, thought I. Leaf spring bolts. Now, there's a thing. One came out, the other seized in the bush. Cut through the sides, so now left with the bush and bolt left in place, so I am going to lower the spring and try and get the bush out with a tad of heat or sawing. Funny how one job always leads to another, or another etc. Best off to Craddocks to get the bushes first and then see where we are.

Dog walking duties then took him to the vet for his boosters. I saw Jack (Giacomo) the Italian vet who is a Land Rover fanatic. After giving the dog a clean bill of health he came out to have a look at the Land Rover and took a photo to send to his family.

Yet to get my landy on the road but I am looking forward to shoving the dogs in the back, as long as they don't launch through the canvas.

I hope you enjoyed your time over here, and that it didn't rain every day!

Refuelled today. No real need as the fuel gauge showed 1/4 full but we all know what's inevitable very soon.
118 miles travelled 7.01 gallons to brim equates to 16.83 mpg. Happy with that for short journeys.
The cheapo Jet station is on my dog walk route but it's not worth a special journey as the saving is the fuel used to get there and back and it's unlikely I'll be going that way until post apocalypse.
Clocks go back tonight.

Woo hoo  :Emma

For the first time in nearly a year I've actually done something with the Panda Camper.
I tried to start it ...
After some failed attempts I found that the glow plug wire had Burnt out, something I'd not seen till today - tucked away at the back of the bulkhead :thud  no wonder it was hard to start.

I need to move Panda on Wednesday so they can take some new photos of the house.

A new 60 amp cable made up and she burst into life after 20 seconds on the glow plugs. Not much oily smoke either.

I can get on and get the headlights working ready to sell her on.

I gave the fuel filler cap its first coat of Galvafroid. I can't do the second coat until at least 24 hours later then I have to wait 3 days before I can give it the final coat of aluminium paint.
