What have you done with your Series 2 Land Rover today ?

I started sorting all of the parts for the handbrake linkage, only to find I don't have the nut that goes on the back of the relay shaft  :thud

That's what I thought too, which I have plenty of, hence not ordering one! It's bigger than 3/8 and definately Imperial as a Metric nut of the nearest size is an extremely loose fit, I haven't got a huge selection of bsf hardware to rule that out either, i was going to dig out the parts book this eve!

Quite boringly, I drove to work and came home in it! Today it was raining, strange that, and thr drivers door seal leaks at the top!
This evening I did more work on the Safari roof, soon ready to test fit it before putting all the trim back.

I'll work out how to post pictures shortly, but anyway, today my Series IIA has been loaded on a transporter from the UK, cleared customs and is currently heading across France to his new home in Poland.

A little slice of British-ness coming to Warsaw, where hopefully I'll get him registered with 'historical vehicle' status (similar to UK, exempt from MOT, tax , ULEZ etc) and then begin to see how it goes, whether I'll keep him a bit rough and ready' or whether I'll start some gentle renovation. He'll be a weekend warrior not a daily driver.

I beat out a peculiar external bend in my 88's rad housing then got the wire brush attachment in my drill to prep the frame for primer and paint.

Dismantled and bodged the drivers side door lock mech.  The handles have worn the locating holes in the cover and were slopping a bout.  Found some washers that fitted the handles and welded them to yhe tin case.

I am just a bit tight but new ones aren't cheap.

Garage is nearly tidy enough to get anything done in there. Put up the all-important petrol engine poster and my grandmothers "advanved drivers club" certificate next to the speed sign she ran over.

i have been re furbing the interior, specifically the seat box. I started to clean the dirty of oil covered gear box and have discovered that there are a few bolts missing. Any ideas You cannot view this attachment.regard the size ( see the picture)

I made up a couple of front wing mudguards from 1mm ali and fitted the o/s. It may prove too thin over time.  ???   Later this afternoon I wired wheeled off the remaining paint and got a coat of grey oxide on the 88's rad panel.

Checked fluid levels. Just a drop of oil to bring the level up to the H mark on the dipstick which is where I always keep the level.
Series 3 Owner but interested in all real Land Rovers.
