Are there any recommendations for suppliers of engine service parts please.

They are the obvious supplier but given comments on quality of some parts ( the recent steering relay issue for one) are they going to supply similar quality for bearings, pistons, bearing and head bolts.
The discount is secondary for these components. What about Turners, any good, or the outfit, the name of which escapes me over Shrewsbury way. I'd rather look around all potential sources as the first priority.

Ah...
Commonly when somebody asks about service parts, it is usually taken as things like filters and service consumables. If we are talking about overhaul components, then there are multiple options such as Turners, ACR and so on. Don't write off Paddock / Britpart completely - quite a lot of the kit is perfectly usable.

I seem to have acquired about 7 or 8 LR Genuine Parts timing chains. I've also got valve collets, springs and some valves if that's any help.

Yes ...

Are you talking about oil filters and spark plugs or piston rings and crank bearings ???

What parts are you after ?

Perhaps the wrong terminology. Not sure if I'll need them but I was thinking of bearings, bolts, pistons etc. Looking ahead, just in case.

For general annual service items such as filters and the like, paddocks spares are more than adequate, not to mention club discount makes it a very attractive price indeed, but for anything more in depth than an oil change, Turner engineering get my vote for actual engine parts, a wealth of knowledge and fantastic quality on everything they sell, for me they're invaluable as they're only a half hour drive away should I need anything urgently.
