Took delivery of some new front panels for my LW from Paint Man. Well packed. Yet to unwrap, but look the part through the bubble wrap.  Not that I haven't got anything else to do. Messing with the T 20 has taken me away from the steering.

With lovely weather today, I wheeled the chassis out for the first time in ages to get rid of all the workshop dust that had accumulated!

Herald1360

Replaced the old Hella foglight I've been using as a reversing light by an 18W LED floodlight. Hopefully I'll actually be able to see something behind now!

TimV

Road test of brakes following their bleeding from empty, pleased to report - they work!

Went up to the Christmas market at Bibury classic motor hub (fantastic place) and bought some festive tat. Lovely drive out.

Countryview

Finally managed to source a pair of screw type vent flap openers and fitted them today. Thought I'd leave them as are as I quite like the patina!

Picture of the minger? 😉😁

Did some more pottering around this weekend. Primed and painted the outside of the transfer box sump cover. I think it was a bit cold for painting as it's dried dull, so I'll give it another coat before refitting it. Unsure about whether to paint the inside or not. There was loose paint on the inside when I removed it, which I've rubbed down. I'm conscious that if painted inside and it flakes off this could end up in the oil and cause damage.🤷♂️

I also scraped a lot of the crud from under the chassis and degreased the underside of the gearbox/transfer box. It looks like someone has previously waxoiled it underneath, including the gearbox🙄. Still lots of loose cruddy stuff to remove but it's getting there. As a break from scraping I freed off the front prop bolts as that will need removing and cleaning up and the front output shaft seal will need replacing. When I loosened the prop bolts black oil like liquid started to drip from the joint at the transfer box end. This stank and looked like a bit like burnt oil. I assume it's old grease that has liquified, but will bow to the forum wisdom.

Serious Series

Fitted a replacement differential to rear axle after having dismantled 3 diffs and none where found to be salvageable at reasonable cost.
Anyone fitted Britpart crownwheel and pinion sets wonder if they are ok.
Is anyone on here rebuilding differentials as a small business?
