Membership renewal

My membership was up on 31st October and my direct debit for renewal was taken on 1st November, yet when I spoke to our area rep today, he said my membership had lapsed and I also cannot log in to the members area of the website. Surely there has to be some sort of grace period before members get locked out of the website?

You come up on my control panel as "overdue".

You need to speak to our Membership Secretary Chris on [email protected]

I'm sure it's just a glitch in the system.

Thanks for the reply Alan, my question really is that, should there not be a grace period of say a week or so before members are listed as overdue as it seems to take that sort of time from the money going out of my account until it arrives at the club.

I've looked into this for you David, do you have this issue of OVERDUE for a few days each year?  It takes a number of days (roughly 7) from the time CrossMember requests money from you bank to the day it is paid.  For some reason the date this process started is closer to your membership expiry date than ideal, resulting is this day or two or being OVERDUE.   This issue has been logged for you with CrossMember.  They've seen this a few times before with other Crossmember clubs of which there are 35 now using CM. 

Website access to the members section is all automatic, driven from CrossMember, no person is involved with adding, setting to OVERDUE or deleting members.  Normally the renewals happen before the expiry date so members have no idea what goes on at renewal time not is there a need for a grace period.  Unfortunately for you the dates haven't all lined up into a seamless renewal, apologies for that.

Thanks for alerting us to this hiccup, it all adds to finding a solution not just for yourself but for the others who have fell into the OVERDUE blackhole.  I'll keep an eye on your membership status over the next day or two to make sure normal service is resumed ASAP.
