Just copied from Facebook, I'm sure Alan and family won't mind as some of you may know in the past he was the subject of the longest thread a few years ago and it may still be.

It is with great sadness that I announce the passing away of my father, Tony Bessim.
After a short illness, he passed away surrounded by his family at St Peter's hospital.
I'm sure you all have had interactions with him and his unique sense of humour, I'm actually surprised he isn't in Facebook jail so I can even write this!
He's certainly led a full and interesting life, with plenty of crazy stories to last another lifetime.
All details of his funeral will be posted in due course, and please feel free to come and pay your respects or share a joke with him one last time

Tony's going to be missed so much, we had some great times and laughs over the years, off roading and Tony stuck in the mud, walking around wearing white socks while trying to get it out while Alan sat inside, is just one that springs to mind. We're already missing you my friend, always good for a laugh and a bit of fun. Rest in peace our friend, Tony. Paul and Bridget.

Oh no, I'm so sorry to hear this. Tony was one of the first people I met when I joined the club. He was a fun guy.
He loved winding Eric up at the pub meets!

Never met him but sad to hear another familiar name disappear from the club. I remember seeing his postings as long as I've been on here. I also never knew he was your father!
Condolences to you and the family.
