Roamerdrive Import

Has anyone had the experience of ordering a Roamerdrive direct from Canada? They have provided a cost which is significantly better than i can find in UK. Is it straight forward and is it just 20%vat we pay on import or is there a Duty as well. Govt website isnt quite clear.

If you consider the Roamerdrive to be a gearbox, I think duties will be 4% over the purchase price plus shipping, plus 20% VAT.

When I have imported rare SII - 2 Litre Diesel parts I have been charged the following,

- Shipper Handling Fee - Between £12 to £20
- Item Specific Import Duty %
- UK VAT 20%

From memory I believe that they add the costs in that order so you pay the 20% VAT after the 4% Item Specific Import Duty as been added.
