Good Afternoon, this is my first post on here and unfortunately its not a happy one.  My friend Jake Wiltshire, not a member of the club some some of you may have known him, passed away two weeks ago (he was 57).  He loved his S2 which was immaculate and very nearly finished (if they ever are!). However his last wish was to be taken on his last journey in a Series.  I have been asked by family as they know I'm a member if I could put out a request for anyone with a Series Station Wagon if it might be possible to perform this last request for Jake?
Any help with this would be gratefully received.  The funeral is on the 18th Dec and the last trip would be from Verwood, Dorset to New Forest Crematorium, New Milton.
Many Thanks for reading this and hopefully someone might be able to help.
Regards
Kev

A firm called Mortons did show a Forward Control Hearse at the Classic Show and I do know of several Defender Hearses for Hire.
I am unsure of the practicalities of using an 'ordinary' Series for this purpose.
Best of luck in the search.

I don't think there are any particular restrictions on transporting a coffin. I've seen this in action.

Probably too far away  but a Leicester undertaker has a Sandringham Six trayback if it helps.

I used my Series 2a as a hearse to take my father's coffin from his home in Doorn to the crematorium in Amersfoort, a 10 mile drive, in close consultation with the undertaker. He had left no special wishes, so it was up to us organize what we thought he would have wanted, within the margins of the law. He had always been very fond of the Rover, the Stage 1, as well as the S2a.

It's a hooded 109, but the boot lid had to stay down to accomodate the coffin. It was early March, evening, pitch dark, but for oncoming drivers it must have been strange, maybe even confronting...
