Hi,

Google found this ....

Get a Q registration number
DVLA will give your vehicle a 'Q' prefix registration number if you do not meet the conditions for keeping the original registration number.

Your vehicle must pass the relevant type approval test to get a Q registration number.

Vehicles with a Certificate of Destruction (CoD) must never reappear as complete vehicles or be presented for registration, though some components may be recycled. You cannot keep the original registration or vehicle
identification number.

Hmmm! The JAGO GEEP kit came with a new chassis that would have passed some sort of replicated crash test. That was a long time ago, but memory suggests that the seat belt mounts were tested using heavy weights being dropped from the required height.

Hmmm 2! Way back when, (1950s?) there was reputed to be somebody looking to buy TR2 log books. Apparently a transporter lorry had crashed, which meant that its load of brand new TR2s had to be scrapped. True? Dunno!

Also (unconnected) there was reputed to be somebody offering £5 notes for sale at £1 each. Very strange ... until the Great Train Robbery took place.
