You'll be lucky to find one.

Even "project" Brockhouse trailers go for silly money.
Very much sort after by Series 1 owners.
Sit down before you ask the price.

Just so folks know what we are talking about .... recognisable by the distinctive diagonal strengthening pressings in the panels.

Are they a good trailer and would it be suitable for a series 2a, seen one that's a project but don't mind that

Bigdog

The one in my picture doesn't have the pressing in the panels, does that mean it's maybe not a brockhouse one

Bigdog

The chassis plate does say brockhouse but maybe tub is different

They are an excellent Land Rover trailer  :gold-cup  They tow very well behind a Land Rover, just as a Sankey does.

It's down to personal preference.
My personal feeling is that the Brookhouse is more a civvy trailer.
The Sankeys were never offered to Joe Public until the MoD cast them off to the surplus dealers.

The BM in the military reg make it 1953/54, the one in your pick is what called a "Sankey" they were made by several companies. Wittsend picture shows the civvy Brockhouse with the external arches

Brockhouse did produce a trailer that looked the same as a Sankey.
Not to be confused with the Brockhouse BT8 as in Witsend's picture.
The MOD must have had a spec for the Sankey style and asked several manufacturers to supply them.
The blue trailer shown by Bigdog is a Brockhouse but is unusual as their version of the Sankey style trailer normally has X shaped ribs in the sides.

Most Brockhouse BT8's, with the wheel arches weren't civilian, most were used by government departments, mainly AFS with a Coventry climax pump or Field Cable Party with a cable drum, ladders and poles for emergency telephone cable repairs.

Bigdog

Do you think it's not an original brockhouse, would it be worth getting to restore, think it's £200

I think it probably is a Brockhouse, certainly the chassis. The body could beBrockhouse or Sankey body fitted at a later date. As said earlier in the thread all these trailers are prone to rust in the lower body, especially as most were left outside to fill with water!
We had to replace the bottom two inches of steel all round my cable party trailer, including the tailgate!
