Series 2a drone shots
« on: January 07, 2021, 11:49:24 AM »

I went out with a fiend of mine who is a professional cameraman, and he brought his drone along for some practice.

It’s a byway running across Houndkirk moor near Hathersage. It’s ideal for drone filming as it’s open moorland.

Was the 'pilot' in the Landrover, or standing outside to film? I can imagine the whole perspective thing being really difficult if you're in the vehicle that is being filmed.
I've seen the Team Faff stuff; I've assumed that they are filmed from inside the vehicle, but never been sure.

It was bloomin freezing so he was sat in the passenger seat.

He has a very expensive controller that has a large real-time display. So he could pilot the drone perfectly well without even seeing it.

I’ll have some more footage when he can get it to me. It was filmed in 4K uhd so files are very large.

Haven't been up there in a while. Used to use if quite a bit. As soon as the video started I knew where abouts on the lane you were and which direction you were heading (west!)  :-X. I took a photo on that bend in some pretty deep snow. Was a very accessible lane when I lived in Sheffield.
