If it was flat or nearly flat I'd suggest a wing brace or a brace for the rear tub. I can't remember the shape of the long wheel base ones though.

  That's what I thought also but I have the 2 rear braces and this is different, it might be something from the bonnet?

my 58/59 has these on the bottom of the front footwell to the cill/wing

This one I removed from petrol tank front outrigger to deep cill. Part number on it is still readable
