Interesting photo
« on: December 27, 2022, 11:29:32 PM »

I came across this photo on another aviation forum I use. It’s an interesting colour scheme and it makes me wonder if this vehicle might survive?

I've changed my mind. I think it's a Handley Page Victor now!

I can't even tell there's something in the background!!!

It looks low, so more likely to be a Victor.

Definitely a Victor (as confirmed by the text on the original Facebook post!).

There seem to be fewer RAF Land Rovers in preservation than their army counterparts, possibly because there were less to begin with?. It looks like a Mk10 rather than a Mk8.

Yes a Victor. Lovely aeroplane, always looked mean from every angle. My parents old house that I was brought up in overlooked the runway at Woodford airfield (now gone) We used to watch Victors, Vulcans and Nimrods fly on a daily basis! Noisy beggars!!

What colors would it have been? Black and white? Blue and yellow?

Shame they didn't match the wheels, too!
