General Discussion / Re: Wheel nuts and studs
Last post by w3526602 - Today at 03:47 PM
Hi.

S3 wheel studs are splined, and pushed in from the the other side. They are 16M.

I believe S2A are also splined and pushed in from the side. They  are 9/16" BSF.

... my girls have arrived, and are demanding my presence. I will return shortly.

maybe buried in a pit of cow muck for a while...

once went to my dads friends house, he said he had some old land rover springs in the back I could have, so off I went, he comes with a shovel and digs downwards, hits a spring and starts pulling.

probably the best pair of springs I've seen in ages actually, with new bushes of course! :RHD

Weight is a tyre killer. You don't see HGV tyre debris on our roads because weight goes easy on tyres.

I get roughly 15000 out of my T5 tyres,  I'm v.careful - it's a heavy car. Not tried it, no doubt heavy-footed too, I can see how 2000 would be easy, and 1500 miles quite possible.

With vastly higher weight than any Volvo T5, and massive torque it's reasonable that EVs owners should expect crazy tyre wear. Weight and power has to shred tyres.

On my 109, I've 7.50R16 Michelin XZL 7.50 x 16 dated 2020. 50-60% worn at 25,000ish miles, I shan't expect much over 40,000. And at current use, by then, they'll be 5-6 years old and be near scrap with reduced grip anyway.

Thanks, certainly makes it easier to shift about and work on.

Hello Adrian,

I've had a look your application and the website account, I can see that you joined the club and paid via a direct debit.  The way the membership system (CrossMember) works is that a website account will only be created once payment has cleared.  When people pay via credit card, cheque etc, this is quite quick to process so the website account is soon created.  With direct debit, for the first time that is, it takes a while for the payment to be cleared. this means your website account can take a while to come through to you.  This is something I'm addressing with the CrossMember developer, to release DD accounts quicker.  Let me see what I can sort out for you in the mean time, along the lines of a temporary account, I'll drop you an email.

To access the S2C website your username is based on your membership number which is s2c-08614

On joining you should have received a welcome email with the details. Perhaps this has got stuck in your trash or junk mail bin  ???

For further help contact Chris Mortimer our Membership Secretary.
