I find that the person sitting in the passenger seat is a convenient and effective holder.

Yeah, I get that.
"Is it a runner?"
I think it's because older cars are synonymous with breakdowns and so are Land Rovers, unfortunately.
It's double the assumption.

Funnily enough, I've had that question when it's been ticking over  :confused

I'm a RAM mount convert now having used cheap AA branded ones for years. Beauty of the Ram holder is you only need the 'ball' attached to the vehicle and and holder and arms etc can be moved from vehicle to vehicle. Scores of different options and it's all interchangeable. Very good at isolating from vibration too. It's a great system but they aren't too cheap.

In terms of quality, I have one from Pegasus (1963 version), and it is very very good.

And I got mine during the bad times!

Clearly not a pleasant experience and there were many with similar stories.

My point is that this is old news and those concerns have been addressed and sorted.

Quote from: WoodenMan on Today at 07:08 PMAs a word of warning my brother ordered a Pegasus bulkhead in 2016, never received the bulkhead and never got his money back as at the time he paid by bank transfer. It might have new owners, in which case I apologise, but if I didn't say this and someone else got ripped off I would feel I failed.

Same here, I ordered one in 2017 and paid in full but due to the problems they where going through and telling me a few porky pies they cancelled the order 11 months later they said it would take several months to get a refund but luckily I had paid for it on my credit card and got a refund through them, that's when I ordered one from Rob Owen.

General Discussion / Does it go?
Last post by Alan Drover - Today at 08:21 PM
Over the past few weeks when I have been doing something in the front garden I've been experiencing a growing number of passers by who comment on the Land Rover and the most common question is:-
"Does it go?". Every time I have to explain it's in full working order and road legal.
Is it everyone assumes that because it's an old vehicle that it doesn't run or what?

Thank you all for the comments.

I do appreciate they had had some rough times but have turned it around.
Just wanted to check, it's alot of money.

Thanks.

The local classic vehicle club of which I am a member has a predominance of tractor owners. There's no leather patches, rivet counting  or snobbery here and my Land Rover is very welcome.
To quote Groucho Marx:-
"I wouldn't belong to a club that would have me as a member."

I spoke to Debbie at the Land Rover event at Thruxton in June 2022 and she told me then that she had a new business partner and the old problems were now a thing of the past.
