General Discussion / Re: 1963 SWB diesel 2.25 …?

Quote from: autorover1 on Yesterday at 07:42 PMAre you sure its a wet liner not a dry liner , which was available for a 2.25 L  to bring back to standard bore . The bore would tell which size engine .3.375" is 2 litre and 3.562" is 2.25 L

Re the liners, no I'm not sure - but now that I'm happy that it's a 2.25L I'll go back to the machine shop and quiz them on that. It would make more sense if they were dry liners that were fitted on tha previous rebuild. Thanks for the info and bore dimensions ...

General Discussion / Steering rod lengths ...
Last post by Kev - Yesterday at 07:50 PM
I remember seeing a diagram with all the measurements to set the lengths when fitting all new track rod ends to the rods.
It had a purple/lilac background IIRC.🤔
Anyone able to post it, or a link to the image please?👍

Thank you for that. I've learned something today!
Steven - next time I'm over the water, I'll drop you a line. I'd be interested in seeing that one!

No worries. Yes 276 is a IIa diesel number, although we have very few in the database, so I can't really help with dating.

The Heritage Certificate is produced by Richard (lovely chap, who gives me library access at Gaydon) and uses the same information.

Removed the horrible black foam vent seals and sticky mastic mess they were stuck with by the PO and fitted rubber ones. A tight fit for the vent closers but do open and close and will hopefully ease over the next few weeks.

Thanks James for looking that up - it's great to have a bit more definitive info for my vehicle. Fingers crossed that soon a Heritage cert or equivalent is available for CKDs ... your time is much appreciated. I've also found a list of sequenced engine numbers which says that those starting with 276......... denote a 2.25L diesel.
