Some will be more awake than me this morning, but I was really pleased to see that our new Club website is up and running.

It looks great!

A special thanks to Chris Mortimer for all his hard work behind the scenes making this happen, but also to all those who supported and helped him in also making this happen. There will inevitably be the odd gremlin, but an incredible amount of hard work, dedication and time goes into these exercises as I'm sure Wittsend will testify.

Thanks to all who have made such a huge effort to bring this live and on schedule.

Happy New Year all!

The website looks really good.

Is there a link to the instructions for accessing the member area? I tried my existing details, as well as the new username format without success. I've used the link for a forgotten password but haven't received an email yet

It looks like all old Login information is lost and we need to start again.
Is this correct?

All members will receive an email in the coming days with their login details to the 'Members section', it's an automated process.  If anyone needs to log in now then please drop me an email [email protected] and I'll push the electrons through the wire a bit faster for you.  Thank you for your patience.

The login is tied to our membership system CrossMember, this is new and different to the old website, the two authentication systems are totally separate.  The benefit of the new system is that access to the Members Section is automatic depending if you're a current paid up member or not.  The old system was all manual, a bit of a nightmare to keep up to date.

All members will receive an email with their login details over the coming few days (Paul, I'll push your account through after I post this message).  Only your username is sent to you, you then setup your password by either going to the login page and clicking on the text 'Lost your password' or by visiting https://landrover.series2club.co.uk/wp-login.php?action=lostpassword

I think I must have tried too many times to login this morning, and seem to have been locked out?

Fixed. I was using a VPN and it doesn't seem to like it. Turned it off and it now works.

Something is clearly wrong with this website!

Being a Neanderthal who hates the net, and websites, remembering usernames, remembering passwords etc etc, I blundered onto this one expecting the worst. :geek

Pressed the odd button, my username came up, along with the password, so I pressed Login - and I was in! :RHD

Something is clearly wrong Chris.

Aren't tech-clowns like me supposed to struggle with all this stuff?

All of which is my way of saying "Well done!" :cheers

Glad you like it.  There is nothing there Charles that allows you to be a grumpy old man.  It has been extensively tested against some really grumpy people who couldnt find fault either.  As you say well done Chris.

Actually there has been far more going on in the background than any normal user will see to make sure that everything integrates smoothly.

Using the instructions that came with the email, I easily got through to the club website.
However when I later tried to enter the Forum (not via the website) it blocked me. I had to use the authentication change password thing, where I used the same password as for the website, and I got in.
Is that how it should have happened? because I`m guessing I shouldn't have to use the same password for both sections  ???
