Hi
Just reinsured my S2 with Adrian Flux and they've requested a copy of the LPG declaration. She was converted to LPG before I got her in 2011 and I've never had an LPG declaration. I assume it had one originally any ideas where I can get a copy?

If I understand correctly, you could have the LPG-installation checked/approved at a your nearest UKLPG Approved Autogas Installer.

The Club offers a discount at Adrian Flux, by the way. So, if you're a member, check out the Membership discount section of the website, and if not, consider becoming one :cool

I used to have a car that had been converted for LPG some years before I bought it, in Holland. It didn't have a certificate or any paperwork other than a scrapy bit of handwritten paper, in Dutch, which I presumed was some sort of receipt. The insurance company never asked, so I never volunteered it.

I believe that rules are tighter now and if you haven't got a certificate of compliance with whatever then you have to get the vehicle inspected by an official autogas installer. Understandably I don't think installers are very keen to certify someone else's work from several years ago.

I was a bit worried that the tank was over-age. They are supposed to be tested or more usually replaced after 10 years. I sold the car before it became a problem.

Might be easier to remove it.

Over here you don't get an LPG-certificate and insurance companies don't ask for one. I have (had) several cars on LPG, insured at different companies, and have never had to send them a copy. You have to register the other type of fuel at the RDW (DVLA) of course, but normally the (RDW-licensed) installer does that for you. For that reason, a car with LPG-installation imported from the Netherlands will never come with such a certificate.

I've had the land rover for 12 years and never been asked for the LPG Declaration before.

Nor me. 12 years you say? Me?... 26 years.

It's a Series LR for chrissakes.... Why even ask, makes no sense? 'tis bog-paper. Such a thing will cost more than any saving, and plenty will cover without.

Likely for less too.

And these days, whilst it was the proper gravy-train for those that know how to take the advantages, the LPG install industry is in its death-throes.

Fuel-prices are something people like to complain about, not DO something about.

Find someone to issue it, and you've done VERY well.
