Cheers Dave. That's the original engine, per the database sequence of 1971 FCs.

Quote from: Mycroft on May 15, 2024, 11:11 PMMy pleasure Dave - the FCs are one of my 'to do's generally. I've got yours down as a red export 6-cyl, registered in May 1972 if that's right. Be great to have the engine number.
James

Thanks, the engine number is 33001426A
It is Red and a 2.6 6 cyl. I don't know any history on it and DVLA won't help so export is a surprise but could easily have gone overseas and come back. It's a Carmichael fire engine conversion on it.

Is it possible all chassis released to approved builders for body etc conversions carried an export#, even FC's ?

IIRC all the Dormobile 109s went on export chassis#, even the ones released as UK RHD.

I'm (always!) ready to be corrected, but LR had specific chassis numbers for different outcomes. On Forward Controls, they were as per my database decoder attached.

We have (6) Dormobile conversions on 343... chassis numbers (LHD 6-cyl petrol NADA), then others on 262... denoting RHD export petrol 4-cyl and 282 (RHD export diesel). Shout if I've misunderstood. The first destination listed in the factory records for these is always Martin Walter, (who later rebranded as Dormobile of course).

That's a very kind offer. I cant imagine you will get time to do them all, but if you do. Mine's a 69 2a light weight on chassis no. 23601134A
Unfortunately, the engine is now a 300tdi so not originally.
Any additional info beyond the B Card would be gratefully received. Thank you.

Fascinating - that's a new one on me. There are some folks hereabouts who may know more than me but it might require a separate thread, if you'd like to start one as they probably won't be reading this thread.

Cheers, James

That's good to know, it's only done about 8k so should be original but always good to have confirmed

Hi James,

my 88" chassis number is 141100075, replacement engine number 95128835C, gearbox number 151101082 and front axle 141100151, bronze green r.h.d..

My 109" 2a SW chassis number is 26211378H and g'box number P95119014 marine blue r.h.d.. I won't access the engine (2286 diesel) or front axle because I've a brooding robin in the front n/s headlight.

Thankyou so much.

Don't suppose that is a Rover 80, P5 engine number is it?

Craig.

Hi, James. Thank you for making this offer, most grateful.

My vehicle is a series 2 chassis number 146100523. It is a SWB hard top.

Thanks Arthur Beeston mem No. 4558. E-mail is [email protected]

Mycroft

Sorry Arthur, they close the library at 4.15pm. We do have some stuff on your truck in the database - allegedly built 10/5/61, but that's one of many anomalous dates (all chassis numbers close to it were built at the end of December 1960/beginning Jan 1961) I've been working through. I'm currently planning another trip, hopefully next week, so can check then if that's ok.

Cheers

Good evening all.
Just a quick note to introduce myself as the newbie James has been helping this past week!  Still to find my trucks engine number but haven't had a moment to myself this week.
Looking forward to meeting club members in time to come and knowing more about my S2a in due course.

Sorry for hassling, but did you find anything? Have I missed a message and need to check junk as I get a lot. If you're still working through I apologise. I fact I feel mean as though I am chasing, but just curious if I have missed something.

Thanks again. Leel
