Hello, I have recently bought a 1962 Series 2a and joined the S2C.

I am based in North Aberdeenshire and have been told although there is currently no area rep in North Scotland, that there are many active members on this forum from the area.

Would love to hear from other members close by or within Scotland, and even organise a meet up one day! Cheers.

Hey up, we're up about 50 mins north of inverness. I've been a bit quiet recently as we've bought and moved onto a croft and had a new baby in the last 2 months!

Cheers,
Rory

Nice to hear from you Rory! Lovely part of the country you are from, I used to race cars at Golspie. Don't think my old landy will be setting any track records though.

Busy indeed! Hope the wee one is doing well, I dinna think you'll get a baby's car seat in a Series 2!

She's doing grand thanks! It's been 3 years since our little boy was born, it's wild how fast you forget about the sleepless nights that come with a newborn!

Aye there's still a bit of racing up here, not so much now...

Where abouts do you stay? I was down in Turriff a few weeks back picking up a Fergy and we've friends in Dufftown so we're fairly frequently down.

Once life is a little more settled was thinking about arranging a meet up on our Croft. We've inherited a fairly good natural off road course as we're on the side of a Glen and we've  a little woods up at the back of the plot. I've been having fun with my old
109 6 cyl slithering about on it where I daren't take the Disco!

Nice, Turriff used to be my Saturday night out for a long while! I'm based just North of Ellon.

Hi John in Polbeth ,west calder about 15miles from Edinburgh .
Gemen used to be a rep and organised some verily lovely green road runs plus weekend runs .
But due to more distance between members around Scotland I don't think it very easy to get many within a specific area .
Like Glasgow to Edinburgh pretty much straight forward as is some other places in and around other folks hometowns .
I know the Scottish landrover club (www.slroc.co.uk)is active in and around Scotland and hold varied events throughout the year at different locations to suit different landrover vehicles I'm a member of both and series 1 club more  to read or see what close by for me to get too.
I think if you apply to the club direct if your thinking of holding a meet up or event then you could get support to do so as for numbers it depends where and when and take it from there or alternatively look at the other clubs to see if any events are close by to you but a joining fee and event charge fir hire/insurance for event is chargeable nit expensive around I think £20 but others may post up more info relevant to your request.

Thanks John, I'll have a look at joining that club too. Yeah very difficult to organise a meet up I'd imagine with everyone so spread out.

Buchan Off-road Drivers Club (BORDC) is local to the Shire. Used to be a member and will join again once Jessie is back on the road.

One day I think - couple of weeks if I put shoulder to wheel. Next day, I realise all that's still to be done, so I go to a bar.  The end.
Actually, rebuilt engine to get fired up, try and check state of gearbox, then fit wiring loom and all lights etc.  finish spray painting wings, rad cover.   Source a dynameter and bracket. Install refurbished steering, relay, box, tie rod ends.
