I'm not sure if this is of any interest to anyone, but there is a brand new Roamerdrive on Ebay at
the moment for £2200 or make an offer.
I don't know how much a new one from a dealer is at the moment.
Anyway, item number is  156469839856 if you're rich.

I have Just looked at the Roamerdrive on ebay New At £2,200 which is being sold by a Private Seller.

There is also a New Roamerdrive on ebay £3,200 which is being sold by a Business Seller.

Blimey, you have really got to want one for that kind of money....

I know the guy selling the one at £2200, he's an honest chap (and was a member on here if he isn't still?). I'm tempted myself as I should have bought one a few years ago but it is a lot of money still...

Just checked and I paid £1620 for one in 2021 when they were readily available so it does seems a lot of mark up.

The website says they will quote for delivery anywhere in the world and as 2800 Canadian is about £1600 it would be worth getting that quote unless you needed one today.

Seen the price of the RR 4-speed version?  £5K

I suppose if you were to look at how much some people are asking for an unknown condition Fairey one, then
to be able to buy a brand new, apparently stronger version, at this price it's not too far out.
It's still a big wedge but I suppose for a top notch rebuild it's reasonable if you can afford it.
I certainly can't, plus the fact that I have an extremely quiet Fairey (thank you Calum) then I'm
certainly not in the market for one.
I just thought I'd draw it to peoples attention if they were looking.

I have one complete here in a box with 20 test miles on it, bought from a quality restoration chap who had built up a £65,000 motor for a gentleman in the south who after a month of receiving his dream Land Rover his health deteriorated and never actually drove it only a passenger on delivery day! soon after the gentleman pass away! At least he got to admire it for a few weeks...

The widow asked the restoration chap if he could help her re-home the Land Rover as she has no real sentimental attachment to it being so new and would be nice to recover some cost back, he agreed as the Land Rover was still in the same place as when he delivered it..

The chap basically stripped all the additional accessories and took the Land Rover back to Basic factory specifications, sold it to a person on his waiting list for over £60,000 I think he said who was sad to hear the story but was delighted to get his new dream Land Rover a year ahead of schedule!!

Think I'm in the wrong business!!!

Due to the circumstances the restoration chap used the money gained from the sale of all the additional accessories removed to cover his costs and gave the widow her £65,000 back a few weeks later... A real credit to his character I think....

I gave proper money for the Roamerdrive at the time, I think it worked out I was saving some of the vat and/or the delivery cost on a new one, which in essence this is/was...

It's still sat in a box in the garage unused, if a new custodian with a couple of grand wanted to look after it I could possibly be tempted to let it go...

Hard to believe that the £1620 you paid just three years ago is the equivalent of £2138 with the intervening inflation taken into account.

You cannot view this attachment.

If it's any consolation, the £900 I paid for mine in 2000 is broadly the same.

And, if anyone is contemplating taking the plunge, I am happy to attest that mine has provided over a hundred thousand miles of faultless service.

They are a quality peice of engineering art, that's why I bought one, engineering from a different generation but with a modern twist to provide the finest product for the job, something you don't get very often these days...  :shakinghead

Exchange rates also have to be taken into consideration. Inflation differs in different countries.

John brown we're selling one on eBay second hand a few weeks ago for £2,500 I think? I'm sure in the add it read that new ones were over £3,000 now in the uk? And on back order! Not the first time I have heard this...

Everything these days has gone up and sadly becoming out of reach of the humble enthusiast which most of us are, quality will always command quality prices but it's the crap that is catching up which is the scary bit!!
