Hi, for model making purposes I'm looking for pictures of the 2 conversions. I've trawled google and Facebook etc for as much as I can find but I'm still looking for some detailed pics of the following areas in particular.

Roadless Traction conversion- the axles, diffs and rear body/tub inner and outer.

Cuthbertson conversion- the tracked carriages in detail, particularly the framework. Also the steering gear and how the front axle is pivoted on the track side.

Also any other interesting pictures of either conversion welcomed!

Thank you.

There is a Cuthbertson at Motor Museum Gaydon, may be worth a visit . If you put Roadless in a search on this forum there are a few Pics.

This article has some photos that might be useful. I know an owner vaguely, so might be able to get more pics if not:

Thanks I know about the one there, a visit to Gaydon is on my 'to do' list but not made it to the top yet!

Thanks, I have seen that article. It's the axles I'm most interested in. They are Kirkstall axles apparently, so not the standard series type.

I believe there is a Cuthbertson out Huddersfield way, the one in my pic above in fact. Does anybody know the owner? I found a series of pics showing stages of dismantling and rebuilding but not enough pics showing the details I need. More overall view type pics, but helpful nonetheless.

Doesn't somebody on here have a Roadless in Northern Ireland?

From the article in post #2
....was 75 inches, 14 wider than the rear in order to allow for steering lock, but the
turning circle was still a massive 40 feet! Top speed was around 30 mph on a good day.

The turning circle of my S1 109 with standard 7.00 tyres is 43ft !

There used to be a roadless parked at the side of a roadside garage NE of Crianlarich above Loch Lomond. I wonder if it's still there.
