I know... Nice 2.25 5MB one!
I think it's a recon with new pistons etc.
I'm in two minds about that one - whether to sell or keep it for myself.

I ticked off a couple more of the smaller jobs remaining on my list of 25 until completion. I added an additional brake pipe clip at the left front chassis rail; tightened the 2ba fixings at the top of the right hand wing front; clipped the windscreen washer tubes from the foot pump to the inside of the driver's footwell; rudimentarily checked the headlight aim on the garage door and repositioned the decorating sheet lengthways across the osb board/rear tub under the tilt frame to accommodate the cab rear panel for dust free painting.

Another few days of doing bits and bats. I acquired a grubby looking alternator bracket for when/if I fit an alternator. Cleaned rust treated and painted up ok. Separated the front door tops from the bottoms and got the original glass out in one piece. They were a pig to separate and I'm not sure whether it'll be better to get new ones or try and refurb them. The glass is etched it's the original reg number which is on a bus according to the MOT checker.

I've also removed and cleaned up the 4wd lever, transfer box lever and main gear lever along with the transfer box dust cover. I did a fair bit of degreasing and scraping crud from underneath the whole beast too. Steady progress, but looking forward to getting the rear tub and roof off to get at the chassis.

Those parts have come up well! What degreaser are you using? I've just got some Swarfega Jizer and pretty impressed but still not as good as the old school degreasers!

We had our areas (Kent) Christmas breakfast meet at a new location, and a firm favourite and one to return to when the weather is warmer!

How bad are those swivel balls? If they're serviceable, they'd be ideal for my bitsa, the ones on the current axle I plan to use are shot to bits and reluctant to spent out hundreds on what is very much a budget build!

I don't know - I didn't pick those ones up today. Next time I'm over there, I'll have a look and report back, but it could be a week or so.

Don't suppose you've got a complete tropical roof assembly amongst that lot. Santa informed me that one won't fit on his sleigh and go down the chimney.

I'm afraid not. A few other panels, but no roofs.

Oh well. I'll keep looking. My aim for 2025 will be to find one.

I have a friend who has one for sale, I think he may want to get rid of it with the sliding glass sides as a combo though. I'll find out what kind of £££ he wants for it. 👍

Thanks. I really only want the roof as I want to keep the van type sides. It's for an SWB Series 3.

This one was off a S3, I doubt it was original to that particular vehicle.. but other way, it's a SWB one. I've text him to see if he will split and what he wants for it.

I have a swb tropical roof here the rare one without vents
